Paddle Ohio Launches Event on the Olentangy River June 9

COLUMBUS, OH – Paddle on the Lower Olentangy River Water Trail to earn a Paddle Ohio pin! The Ohio Department of Natural Resources  is offering a Paddle Ohio canoe float on the Olentangy River on Friday, June 9 at 6pm.

The program will last approximately 2.5 hours. Participants will meet at Confluence Park, located in downtown Columbus. A shuttle will be provided. This 3.5-mile float will showcase Ohio’s newest water trail. Pre-registration is required. To register, please contact Bob Gable at robert.gable@dnr.state.oh.us or 614-265-6814.

The Paddle Ohio initiative rewards individuals with a commemorative pin each time they paddle four different Ohio wild, scenic and recreational rivers, water trails or select state park lakes. Pins are available for paddlers who paddle four, eight, 12, 16 and 20 different segments of designated wild, scenic or recreational rivers, water trails or state park lakes.

Participants may submit information about their four paddling trips on the Paddle Ohio registration form at paddle.ohiodnr.gov. ODNR will mail pins to qualifying individuals after the 2017 canoeing season ends.
